ANNUAL EVENTS
LMCDC ANNUAL MEETING
Each January, the LMCDC hosts an Annual Meeting banquet to recap the year and to lay out goals for the coming year. Members only event.

February we like to show our family and friends that we care for them.. why not extend that gratitude to our businesses! #LoveLocalLakeMills
REGIONAL LEGISLATIVE FORUMS
The LMCDC teams up with Winn-Worth Betco. and other area organizations to host an open forum with our area legislators.
In partnership with the Lake Mills Graphic, the LMCDC hosts two weekends throughout the year dedicated to garage sales: one in May and one in September! Contact the Lake Mills Graphic to get on the official map!
CITY-WIDE CLEAN UP & TRASH TO TREASURES
The weekend following City-Wide Garage Sales is dedicated as City-Wide Clean Up. Utility-paying residents of Lake Mills can utilize City services to help clean up their homes and properties. In the Spring we also host a FREE Trash to Treasures exchange in Oakwood Park.
The celebration of the summer; don't miss Lake Mills July Jubilee! Community activities include a parade, street dances, downtown community night, picnic in the park, and more!
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
National Night Out is held on the first Tuesday in August. Local police departments and emergency services come together to put on a fun, educational night for kids and their families; enhancing the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement!
BACK TO SCHOOL BREAKFAST
The Back to School Breakfast is an event that the LMCDC hosts to welcome teachers and staff back to school in the fall. A cinnamon roll breakfast is served and each year we ask a LMCS alumni to attend and share their story!
FALL CARNIVAL
End of summer bash, complete with pumpkin painting, carnival games (put on by local churches) and treats! The Parks and Recreation, Library and LMCDC come together to put on a fun evening, full of free activities to help draw the summer to a close!
Be afraid, very afraid, to miss Ghouls' Day Out in Lake Mills! Grab your best ghoulfriends and enjoy some fun downtown - scary good sales, specials and more! Take part in the stamp card activity for your chance to win our gift basket prize!
SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
Support local businesses this holiday season! Shop great specials and find one-of-a-kind gifts for your loved ones! By supporting our local businesses, you are investing in the growth and development of our community!
DRIVE THROUGH LIGHTS DISPLAY
Get in the holiday spirits with some fun Christmas Light displays put up by local businesses and organizations! The display is located at the Leonard Fjelstad Sports Complex. Lights go on the evening of Small Business Saturday, and stay on all December!
HOLIDAY FESTIVAL
Enjoy the holidays in Lake Mills! Kick start the holiday season with festivities including the LMAHS Tour of Homes, Christmas Light Cruise, Retail Scavenger Hunt, Free Holiday movies, and more!
Grab a cup o joe and enjoy a conversation with local businesses or organizations! Currently, we are streaming Chamber Coffee chats live on Facebook, but look forward to enjoying a cup of coffee together soon!
CAREER EXPLORATION EVENTS
The LMCDC has partnered with Winn-Worth Betco., IowaWORKS, and the Lake Mills Community School to provide the opportunity for students to learn about and explore different career fields in the area.
