The City of Lake Mills prides itself in providing excellent community support through public services. From public transit to kids swimming lessons, the City of Lake Mills works hard to improve the livelihoods of Lake Mills citizens!
Transit is dispatched through City Hall, please call (641) 592-3251 for transit service Monday through Friday (8:30 AM-10:45 AM, and 11:15 AM-4:00 PM). Small fee collected for transit use.
The Lake Mills Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1896, and remains active today. There are 24 Volunteers that are dedicated to provide fire protection to Lake Mills and the surrounding areas.
PARKS & RECREATION
The Lake Mills Parks and Recreation Department work diligently to provide an abundance of family activities, and to maintain and improved public spaces for community use.
The Lake Mills Police Department is a city entity which has 5 full time employees, operating a 24/7 agency. The LMPD teacms up with the Lake Mills Community School to teach DARE curriculum to the 5th graders.
Lake Mills Public Works provides excellent municipal utility services for residents and businesses alike. The department staff are experts in infrastructure repair and maintenance.
The service was started in 1969 and consists of volunteers dedicated to provide first aid and transport for people in need. The team consists of Drivers, Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, and Patient Assistance.
Cool off at the Lake Mills Family Aquatic Center this summer! The pool is open Memorial Day to Labor Day (weather pending) - get your summer pass by contacting the Parks and Recreation Dept. at City Hall.
The Lake Mills Public Library is a place to come together to learn, explore and have fun! Stop by to learn about our services, and after school programs - and don't forget to sign up for a FREE library card!
