LMCDC Board of Directors meet on the first Monday of the month at the LMCDC office. Meetings have been conducted digitally in the light of the pandemic.

Angie Thompson
Project Coordinator at WCTA
Angie has worked at WCTA since the fall of 2017.
She grew up in Lake Mills, moving away after high school. After 21 years away, she returned to the community with her family.
The Thompsons enjoy traveling in their free time.
Angie joined the LMCDC Board of Directors in January of 2019.

David Taft
Retail Manager, MBT Bank
David Taft began his career with MBT Bank in 2017, joining the chamber shortly after to keep the bank connected with community events as well as to help support the community and businesses in ways beyond his duties at MBT Bank.
"I think the chamber plays an important role in supporting local business and the community as a whole," said David.
David enjoys traveling, attending local sports events, and, of course, spending time with his wife and daughters.
David joined the LMCDC Board of Directors in
January of 2018.

Anna and her husband, Ben, live in Lake Mills with their son, Jorah, and two mini-goldendoodles. Ben is an electrician for Groe Electric and Anna is a high school teacher in Forest City . They enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, and playing games.
Anna joined the LMCDC Board of Directors midterm in 2022.

LuAnn Scholbrock
Partner and Chief Client Officer, Coloff Digital
Partner and Vice President, Coloff Development Partners
LuAnn Scholbrock is a graduate of Iowa State University with a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Media Studies. For over 30 years, her career has focused on partnering with clients for business development, marketing, and sales strategies. Her success has been built by partnering with hundreds of business clients in focusing on their individual goals and executing custom solutions for their growth by following the client needs analysis system.
In 2009, Scholbrock began working in Jim Coloff’s companies and has successfully served in leadership, business development, and outside sales roles for Coloff Media, Coloff Digital, and Coloff Development Partners. As the current Vice President of Coloff Development Partners, and Chief Client Officer for Coloff Digital both in Forest City, she continues to build on her success by working closely with business leaders on implementing their strategic plans for growth.
Scholbrock currently serves on the State of Iowa Workforce Development Board, Catholic Foundation in the Archdiocese of Dubuque Board, and serves on Lake Mills Planning and Zoning Board.
LuAnn and her husband Jim have 3 children, Paul, Matt and Lauren, two daughter in laws, Morgan and Megan and a soon to be son in law, Andrew. LuAnn enjoys running, traveling and reading.
LuAnn joined the LMCDC Board of Directors in 2005 and has held positions including President and Vice President.

Cathy Bernhard
Insurance Agent, Winnebago Insurance Agency
Cathy started with WIA on January 1, 2004 and is licensed to write Personal, Commercial and Life Insurance. She is involved on the counsel board at St. Patrick's Church.
Cathy enjoys traveling and spending time with friends, her husband, 2 children, and 4 grand children in her spare time!

Julie joined the LMCDC Board of Directors in January of 2023.

Executive Director
Cassie Johnson
Cassie joined the LMCDC as Executive Director in September of 2015.
Cassie grew up in rural Lake Mills and graduated from the Lake Mills Community School before attending NIACC in Mason City, where she played volleyball and pursued an associates degree in business. Cassie later graduated from Iowa State University with Bachelors Degrees in marketing and management and returned to northern Iowa to build a career and start a family.
Cassie is married to Michael Johnson, who also grew up in rural Lake Mills. Michael farms with his family, and the couple has a daughter, Nora, who keeps them busy outside of work.
